Papers on processing Cu, Co, Ni and Zn

Seven papers presented at the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy's Copper, Cobalt, Nickel & Zinc Recovery Conference, held in Zimbabwe during July 2001, were authored or co-authored by Bateman personnel.

MRT – proven technology for processing metals in solutions

BATEMAN has entered into an agreement with IBC Advanced Technologies, Inc., USA, to establish a new company Molecular Recognition Technology Africa. The joint venture will market engineered process plants using IBC’s molecular-recognition technology (MRT). Molecular Recognition Technology Africa has an exclusive licence for Africa but will also operate outside Africa on a case-by-case basis. This combination of IBC’s processing technology and BATEMAN’s capability as engineer and project manager, brings novel solutions to the minerals and metals processing industry.

Recent papers on SX/EW technology

BATEMAN personnel presented six papers at the South African Institute for Mining and Metallurgy’s solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX/EW) school, held in Johannesburg in October 1999. Most of the papers were concerned with copper, cobalt and nickel.

Bacterial oxidation of sulphide ores

BATEMAN offers a range of services for the bacterial oxidation of refractory gold ores, copper-gold concentrates and base metal ores and concentrates.

Technology to recover copper, gold and cyanide

Bateman Engineering Inc. has an agreement with AuGMENT Technologies to promote AuGMENT’s patented technology for the recovery of copper, gold and cyanide through BATEMAN’s worldwide marketing network. AuGMENT Technologies is a joint venture between E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Co. with Newmont Mining Co.

BATEMAN pulsed columns

The BATEMAN pulsed column is a high efficiency cost-effective contactor which enhances solvent extraction (SX) during extraction, stripping and scrubbing or washing processes. These columns should be considered for any industrial SX process, particularly those with a fast rate of exchange.
