City and Guilds accreditation for CADD Academy

The African Academy for CADD Training is the first college in the Republic to be able to offer the internationally approved City and Guilds, London, programme for CADD training. This means that the Academy's students may write the Computer Aided Draughting and Design (CADD) course on AutoCAD as an international examination from next year onwards.

This accreditation of the Academy means that it has become one of more than 60 approved centres in Southern Africa offering City and Guilds programmes.

The Academy seeks to provide industry with qualified personnel by enabling students from previously disadvantaged communities to acquire the technical skills required by a developing economy. Since its inception in 1994, over 90 % of its graduates have obtained employment in drawing offices countrywide. This month 27 students will be sitting for their final examinations prior to seeking employment as junior detail draughtsmen in industry.
