Cooperation Agreement on Process-plant Consultancy 

Bateman Project Holdings Limited has entered into an agreement with Linnhoff March, UK, for co-operation in the field of high level technical- and management-consultant services for the process-plant industries.

In terms of the agreement BATEMAN will be able to access Linnhoff March’s leading-edge process-engineering expertise and software models to optimise process facilities for capex avoidance, energy conservation and minimisation of emissions. Linnhoff March is an independent consultancy that pioneered the development of ‘pinch’ technology and, having refined and applied it to over 2000 customers across numerous industries, is the world’s leading exponent of the methodology. The technology has been widely used to optimise heat circuits, hydrogen balances and water / waste circuits forthe oil refining, petrochemical, fertiliser and other energy intensive industries.

BATEMAN will reciprocate by making available to Linnhoff March its proprietary oil refinery and petrochemical-process simulation model. This non-linear model has been applied to the optimisation of crude supplies and refinery-process configurations, for both revamp and grass-roots developments, enabling refiners to quickly and economically evaluate "what if" scenarios as part of a business-optimisation process. The BATEMAN model produces capital and operating costs, yield data and an analysis of overall plant economics, permitting rapid identification of the most profitable operations.

The agreement reflects the view of both BATEMAN and Linnhoff March that there is a growing market in assisting clients to optimise existing production facilities, squeezing the maximum benefits through yield improvement, plant efficiency and maximised throughput and plant availability. The cooperation agreement envisages the joint development of market opportunities in this field in selected territories around the world.
