Bafokeng BATEMAN Services
Bafokeng Civil Works (Pty) Limited and Bateman Materials Handling,
a BATEMAN company, have entered into a joint venture agreement in order
to combine their respective business capabilities. Operating as Bafokeng
Bateman Services, the joint venture will initially bid for and undertake
projects in RSAs North West Province, but will expand its area
of operation as opportunities arise and make available its services
through the rest of the BATEMAN group.

Managing Director for Bafokeng Civil Works.
According to George Khunou,Director, Bafokeng Civil Works, this joint
venture has both the objective and ability to serve the community while
generating business profits. "It supports the governments
current drive to establish black-empowerment initiatives which have
commercial and business skills to ensure a workable profitable cooperation
while also maintaining a strong social responsibility," explained
Khunou.
Dr John Herselman, Bateman CE, indicated that Bateman is always seeking
new ways of conducting business and is very happy to enter into an agreement
where the respective skills of the companies augment each other as well
as they do in this instance. Bateman also endeavours to be a good corporate
citizen.
Thus its experience in establishing the African Academy for CADD (computer
design and draughting)Training could be made available to the Royal
Bafokeng Nation through Bafokeng Bateman Services so that the training
of draughtsmen can be undertaken in the North West Province; Batemans
Academy was the National 1998 emPower Award winner in the category of
job creation and training.
